Hilux Vigo 2008 wont go pass 2000rpm with accelerator right in

Hi guys, i am experiencing a very frustrating issue with my 3.0 D4D    KUN26R Vigo that goes and comes. Yesterday i started the truck after work in the evening it was sitting for about 9 -10 hours, let it idle as usual for about 3-4 minutes then moved off,  a few feet away from where  i moved off i was in 2nd gear i noticed i was pressing the accelerator and it wouldn't go pass 2000 RPM, i kept pressing the accelerator hoping it would work out itself and i came to a junction and stopped where it just cut out, no warning, sputtering, just shut down so i switch off the ignition and swung again it started immediately and then it drove normally. Drove it again last night and it drove nomally.  Any ideas or shared experience
