Have had this car for over 10 years. It's comfortable, reliable and well made.

Occasionally it needs some TLC.

Wow, that is such a beautiful looking T22.

You just don't see Mk1/T22 estates around at all and I can't the last time I saw one, if I ever have (no, I 'm absolutely positive I have but was I aware of it within my field of vision, I don't know).

Anyway, looking at this sweet example it' s a shame they aren't much more plentiful.

It sits lovely, nice wheels and if the bodywork and paintwork is in good condition and well looked after it is very hard to top a proper white car.

I've seen very few T22s in white either for real out on the road or in photos or images online but I have to say it really looks great in this colour [emoji4][emoji4]

Hi everyone!! My first post on TOC as I have just bought this 2011 T2 1.8 Auto. It has the Sat-Nav / Reverse Camera / USB head unit.

I will be removing that at some point for a full stereo installation including DAB, speakers & amplifiers plus a subwoofer.

Anyway, just so I always remember what the car was like just as I bought it.

Regards

Wozza

i seen a 2016 toyota avensis 2.0 (bmw engine) for sale on auto trader where im from and the guys advert says car done 80000 and toyota had to put a new engine in it and im guessing as it also says it had new clutch and flywheel fitted to. guessing toyota thought well if changine engine may as well change clutch and flywheel. dude u not sell it and but a clean one that has the 1adftv toyota engine. think that last year is 2014 bud.its got a dpf in it so not sure how they will hold out but the 1adftv engine should last i hope

Still 1AD-FTV/2AD-FTV is better. Those engines can take a lot. Even it does not fail if you chiptune it and run a lot of miles. They proved to be good taxi engines and fast. The BMW 2.0 is decent, but have failed on a of lot Mini coopers and BMW and that was pretty much what killed the Avensis sales and production. I have seen other BMW engines way worse.

Here is 5 photos of my car:

i notice my 2014 1adftv in low range its kina sluggish u have to rev it to be any good compared to my last vw 1.9tdi engine car. kina liked the low rpm torque .but suppose small price to pay for hope if dont give any bother and drive forever as its comfortable and plus its a toyota and yes tbh im thinking if toyota still has those bmw engines in them il be going back go vw group cars again. but im a guy that looks after my car and keeps it for years and years . my last one had it for 11 years was second hand 2 and well this one will be the same but tbh its kina boring to drive in the lower rpms than my last one .who wants more torque when if driving at 80+ anyways

One thing worth mentioning is. The 1ADFTV and the 2ADFTV seems to be faster than what the numbers say. They have crazy torque. If you compare the 1,8 petrol making 147 hp to the 2.0 Diesel 126 hp. The diesel is way faster, stronger, more economical and even goes over 200 km/h. The AD engine series could keep up with germen turbocharged petrol engines. I recommend to everyone to buy a Diesel avensis. I chiptuned my 2.0 126 Diesel and it got so much faster. It was more fun to drive while even more economical. The 2AD is just even more faster.

That's awesome!  I think Audi's are the most overrated / disappointing of the 'fancy German' brands. Just VW's in frocks aren't they? Same engines and all.  If I was going to pay big money for something nice, I'd like an engine that was built for it. Not something you'd find in a mundane car like a Golf.. thats for sure!

Funny to see the guy with the camera - who looks like he's trying to follow / pass the Avensis. I wonder if he knew the Avensis driver, seems like the kind of thing I'd do (on a much quieter road) with friends lol  Though since my friend got an i30N it's really been just a waste of fuel for me to even try lol
