turbo

Hi.

 

I have a 04 avensis 2.0 d4d 1cd-ftv, with a broken turbo and was wondering if i need to use the same turbo OEM: 172010G010 or can i use a difrent one as long as its from a d4d?

se alot of difrent partnumbers, designs and engine codes when loking a used one and i get up both 2.0 and 2.2 engines.

I would only stick to turbos from 1CD-FTV engine. The AD engines will be different. 
When getting a second hand turbo, you will not know it's history, so check the seals, play in the bearings and overall condition. You could end up in the same position otherwise!
