My new adventure

Not a lot of choice, of bulbs or price.
A few owners on here said the Toyota ones were an improvement.

There are plenty of cheaper bulbs on eBay, but no numbers listed to check up on what exactly they are.

I’ll report back in a week.

Still waiting for the bulbs.

Wayne how did you find changing the headlight bulbs on the Auris?

Compared to the Corolla verso, the Auris requires stars wars the force lol

I took out the near side one just to see what was fitted, then put it back lol

The standard has the letters LL and new ones should be CVU.

Hopefully they are arriving today

bulbs arrived, the code on the back is covered and the box says 3700K. So they are not white let’s hope they are brighter. Fitting them at weekend.

I will try and get some pics when I change mine over.

Nightmare over. Now to wait until it’s dark.

Apart from the blue tint to the glass, I can’t see any difference yet.

Yes, near side easier. While doing both I’m sure I heard a voice saying “Use the force”

Even getting the new bulbs out of the box wasn’t easy lol.

You do all know to remove the windscreen washer filler spout in order to get better access to the drivers (RHD) side bulbs ? Quick and easy - it's in the manual !

Removing the washer spout is easy, it’s the getting the new bulb back in that’s the fun bit [emoji12]

I was going for the motion blur effect lol

I took the pics from the near side, where I could just get the phone in.

I also tried using one of those mirrors on a telescopic handle. That still didn’t help much, just to check the glass part was in the right area.

I’m off out shortly and I can give you the verdict on the new bulbs later.

I tried many times trying to get the bulb in CLEAN (not touched by anything) and certainly SCRATCH-free...but always failed 😞

remember my test of different brighter bulbs and all of them will last a few months or just over a year - NONE lasted as long as the OEM ones yet 😞

interesting to see if your OEM (but brighter) bulbs will last long too...

Just arrived home. I would say there is a noticeable improvement. On the motorway where no one else is in sight, the lights are definitely brighter and longer reach.
The beams now cover more of the roadsides than with the standard bulbs.
Tonight the conditions have been from wet roads to raining heavy and in some places mist.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still happy with the brighter headlight bulbs.

Bought a workz hydroshot to give the car a quick rinse from all the salt/grit. I’ll post my verdict on the portable pressure washer once I have tried it.

Already 3d printed an adapter to allow the use of a 2 litre bottle to attach for portable cleaning.
