Bitch1001 9 Posted November 2, 2018 Update ... CAR BEEN INTO Toyota ..... the technician said it’s noise from fuel sloshing in the tank ! Ive has this car from new and never heard this noise before does that sound right ???
oldcodger 273 Posted November 2, 2018 Hi, Does it happen both when you have a full fuel tank or a near empty one ? As well as the fuel sloshing around it could be the level sensor float having a bit of sideways movement and creating such a noise or the tank may have a baffle in it ? which has come loose ? My other thoughts would be something trapped or has dented the heatshields around the tank and exhaust pipe. Run over anything like a brick or some wood etc that caused a thud or bang lately ? When stationary get someone to rock the car, if its fuel you should hear it. Also with the engine running, get someone to carefully / gently move the exhaust pipe outlet a little, see if that cause the noise.
Bitch1001 9 Posted November 2, 2018 Never heard noise before they didn’t put it on ramp to check it ...I don’t think I’ve done anything to underside I’ll do the checks you mentioned thanks
furtula 159 Posted November 2, 2018 not many things in the middle of the car mate, maybe you partially grazed a rock with a wheel which sent it flying towards the car, or a branch or similar. I would not worry too much about it.
