I have an '08 Aygo and my iPhone is just too quiet when playing through the Aux socket, so can anyone recommend an MP3 player with enough volume to match the CD player? or do I need an inline pre amp?

Have you made sure you turn up to full volume on the iPhone? When I play mine its always turned up to full volume then I adjust with the volume on the car radio.
