Switchable ATO or ATM fuse to hard wire Dash cam.

Hi all,

I want to hard wire a power source to a Nextbase dash-cam inside a 2014 Avensis saloon, Nextbase even supply all the necessary wiring including a "fuse tap". My problem is that I'm not able to locate a "switchable" ATO or ATM type fuse within the cabin (there are only 5 fuses behind the glove box). Unlike previous incarnations of the Avensis, it seems most of the fuses are now in the engine bay. Do I really have to go through the firewall from the cabin into the engine bay or is there a better option.

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the space available with the lid on, using piggy back adaptor.

You need to check your owners handbook. I went to the Toyota GB site and viewed the 2014 version to confirm the interior fuse location is the same as my 2009 model, and it is. You need to lie on the passenger floor and look beyond the closed glove box. There will see a panel covering the fuse box. here are some photos :-

Hi Konrad,

Many thanks for the update & photos (very helpful), I misunderstood the user manual and taught that panel was only for LHD and didn't see it when I removed the glove box. It really will save a lot of heartache compared to going through firewall.

thanks
