Toyota Aygo Clutch cable replacement

My daughter has given me the job of replacing her broken clutch cable in her 2010 Aygo Black VVT-1 998cc petrol vehicle. Now I have changed clutch cables in other cars without difficulty but my daughter's car is something else. The top of the clutch pedal where the cable is attached seems to buried behind the dash facia and is quite inaccessible. The Haynes manual seems to imply a major dismantling job, even to removing the airbag! Is there anyone who has knowledge how this can easily be done? I can't even see how the facia comes apart. Removing the screws doesn't seem to help as it looks as if there some plastic clips somewhere. Best regards
