Anyone with access to a Costco tyre centre looking for new tyres at the moment may want to have a look at the Cross Climates on offer until Sunday.  I had 4 fitted yesterday for £231.  Next best price I could get for them was £300.  I have 195 x 65 x 15's fitted.

Typical, 2 days in and a puncture on rear left - fortunately repairable 😞

Not nice. Btw most screw or nail puncture are repairable even on the side wall, as long as it doesn't bulge up after repaired - my tyre repair guy told me. I got conned in my early days with a local tyre repair guy, told me outside of the 3/4 central part are not repairable. I had a new tyre with a few hundreds miles on it, had to get a part worn from him and he kept my tyre, no doubt repaired it and sell on.

Any damage on the sidewall should automatically result in a scrapped tire, structurally it's a completely different part of the tire and repairing anything there is a huge safety risk.

Of course one can repair it and drive around for years without issues, but that doesn't mean it'll be the same for everybody and that it's the right thing to do. It's very likely to cause a lethal accident, especially at higher speeds these days, and it's a risk for everybody one shares the roads with.

Where I'm from tire shops aren't even allowed to repair anything on the sidewall.

I'd encourage everybody to think of their and others' safety when it comes to matters like these. Tires are not the thing you want to save money on, plenty of other things out there you can save a buck on.

Depends upon exactly what the damage is & how it is repaired. There are a few specialists (usually commercial tyre suppliers where a single tyre may be £0000s  so repairing rather than scrapping makes a big difference) who can do vulcanised repairs for some things.
