Yaris 1.4d 2007 -  which anti freeze is good that is long life, rang dealers quoted over £40 😞 anyone know of same quality toyota anti freeze like same as main dealers but cheaper? and what colour should it be?

Is Castrol 5w 30 Magnatec or Castrol 5w 30 Magnatec A5 good?

The green engine coolant light stays whenever the car is started especially when the temp outside drops, how can this be fixed

Anyone know of a good supplier for service parts genuine parts and cheap

It's meant to do that, it's telling you the engine's cold. It's when it turns red you need to worry.

On our 2003 D4D, I use Toyota's own antifreeze and any fully synthetic 5w-30 oil with the correct spec. (Halfords when on offer at £15 for 4 liters often)

You doing well to ask re engine oil and anti-freeze if you not sure. Do you have a manual for the car? If so it usuallytells youin their whatthe minimum specs are, just go for something withthe minimum or above and you should be ok.

As for the green coolant light, that should also be in the car manual. As said by Bathtub Bob, showing green when engine is cold is what it should do, and go out when the water temp gets to a set point. Its cheaper to put a bulb in then a temperature gauge. As Bob says, the red light should not come on, when it does it may mean the car cooling system has a problem.
