02 Sensor Heater Error Codes...?

Hi,

My first post on this forum so here goes:

I have a 2002 Toyota Avensis which I have to say has been amazing for the six years that we've owned it. But recently the Battery died and was replaced at the roadside by the AA. Unfortunately ever since then, the engine shaped "check engine" light has been on.

I've tried clearing it with an OBD-II code reader but it comes back.

The reported errors are 0135, 0141, 0155 and 0161. All are 02 sensor heater error codes. In other words the vehicle is telling me that all four sensors are duff.

This doesn't ring true to me.

My first thought was a fuse, but I've checked and there seems to be voltage being sent to the feed wires of all four sensors. Plus the fact that the fuse that serves them also serves a load of other stuff, all of which works.

The car runs fine and and at its MoT recently the actual emissions were all in spec. But it would be nice to clear the error completely.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

🙂
