2.0 D4D black smoke

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and needed some advice.

My Auris has been letting out a load black smoke out the exhaust whenever I put my foot down when the turbo kicks in.

There is no loss of power. I have had the fuel injector changed, checked and cleaned all the pipes and had the actuator fixed on the turbo.

This has reduced the amount of smoke but it still is producing more than it should. ( baring in mind up until a month ago there was no black smoke).

Has anyone had similar issues or advise any possible solution or remedies?

Thanks

Are you losing oil?

What about fuel economy, any changes there?

Is there really no noticeable difference in power, especially when the car is warmed up and the thermostat opens (coolant gauge finishes rising and settles in normal operating position)?

And what did you do when it all started? Do you mean that you've replaced injectors because this issue popped up or is that something you did earlier and now this is a new issue? The same goes for the turbo actuator, why did you do it and who did it.

It might be that the turbo seal is leaking oil.

Were the injectors calibrated correctly?

if it where burning oil from the turbo you would have blue smoke

it sounds like it is over fueling make sure the correct injectors

have been supplied and fitted

Hey,

Isn't there a way that turbo can leak oil on the exhaust side, which makes the smoke black and not blue because the oil isn't technically burning?

I think I've heard of this issue before since the turbo has the intake and exhaust sides and a leak can occur in either of them.

Blue smoke is oil and black smoke is either too much fuel (Diesel) or not enough air for proper combustion.
