There would appear to be a Technical Service bulletin ( TSB ) for this issue:

CP-00091-TME-EN

Description of the phenomenon

Some customers may experience and report manual transmission shift lever vibration and/or a rattle noise during idle in neutral when the engine is cold. This phenomenon is caused by a combination of pressure in the manual transmission and shift lever damper mass.

Production change

Change the breather plug design of manual transmission to improve air flow and change the shape of the shift lever damper to reduce the mass itself.
