Can I replace the alternator brushes in my Y2K Yaris 1.0?

I bought a new Battery for Yaro, but the voltage with the engine running is only showing 13.2 to 13.6 volts, which is a bit low. So can my alternator be serviced? Or do I have to fork for a new one?

An auto electrical workshop would do this as alternators do have brushes so yes your unit is fixable if there is not too much wear with it. I would also not worry too much with the readings as with your new Battery this is in range

Thanx crofter, I'm just worried that the cold weather has yet to arrive and I want to be confident I can use headlights, rear screen heater, wipers and full demist all at the same time, without the car dying on me like it did last Tuesday. 😉
