Just some clarification:

Your profile shows you have a 2008 Yaris 3 cylinder - which is the 1.0 litre Yaris not the 1.3.

Your topic is asking about a 2007 1.3 auto - presumably this has the multi mode transmission, which is a manual gearbox with automated clutch - not yours? Moved to the Yaris club.

If your partner has just bought the car, was it a private sale or from a dealer?

If from a dealer, your partner will be covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 - see 'the first six months' section of https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act

It was a private sale .The car has a fully service history and only 45.000 miles on the clock its in very good condition for its age and drives superb apart from the judder only when very cold ?
