No heater in verso query?

I have a 2015 1.8 cvt and wondered why hand book never mentioned heater settings only air con, so I asked Toyota. Their answer was it doesn’t have one, only way to get heating is through air con! Very strange as heat comes from vents when air con off and heat control turned up and on auto. Can anyone enlighten me as other cars I’ve had were equipped with both which operate separately.

Toyota started supplying abbreviated owners manuals with new cars some time ago, which aren't as detailed as the full owners manual. Electronic versions of the full owners manual may be downloaded from https://www.toyota.co.uk/tme#/my-toyota/eManual

By the sound of it your Verso has climate control, which operates when the air con is on and auto selected. I would imagine that if the air con is turned off, the climate control would revert to manual operation.

Hi frostyballs,

yes I have climate control however Toyota say that there is only one heating system ie. only when air con on. So if air con off what is creating heat which I still get even when auto setting on or off. Have Toyota got it right.

Yes there is only one system.

It would appear the that I’ve not been operating it effectively then.. air con should always be turned on for efficient heating. Heat obtained with it off must be residual from engine/somewhere I presume.

afaik (unless you have a secondary heat system fitted as in some parts of Scandinavia, Canada etc.) all heat is generated by the engine.

I’d be interested to hear from other owners how they use their system

I just press the auto button and let it get on with it.
