Tow hook towing eye.

Hi all,

Whilst recently cleaning out the tyre well of my Avensis 2005 2.2 D, I discovered a threaded tow towing eye.

There is no mention of it or where it screws in the car manual.

I've looked at the plastic covers around the fog lights but they do not appear to come out. There's no slot to lever the blank out.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a while since I owned my T25's but IIRC there's a towing point fitted under the front bumper.  Is the tow hook just for the rear?
