2002 to 2005 2.0 petrol mpg

Recommended Posts

Hello there

I am looking to buy a 2002 to 2004 Rav4, 2.0l manual petrol and I am trying to find out what kind of mpg I would get on average or how many miles from full until light comes on. Would it do 280miles on one tank? Bare in mind I do have a tendency to put my foot down from time to time xD. Also would be having a Roof Rack with bikes on the top there and then.

Thanks for all your time.

You looking at a 3 or 5 door?

Wifes previous 5 door Rav was getting about 26-28 around town with careful driving, haven't tested the 3 door she has now so can't say but believe they are near the same sort of figures?

Yes I agree with paulus maybe mid 30s on a run I've ran diesel's and are much better about 47mpg combined but if you want an early one petrol or deisel make sure you have a good poke around underneath they rot badly especially boot floor. Lots to look for on these but if you get a good one they are great good luck

    1. 1. If you were to consider buying a Hybrid model over 5 years old, would you be worried about the reliability of the Hybrid system?

      • Not really as Hybrid systems are always reliable
      • Not if it had a Manufacturers Warranty on the Hybrid system
      • I would not buy a Hybrid model over 5 years old
