Rattle at low speed behind wheel / dashboard

Recommended Posts

Im new to this forum and would really appreciate any help I can get. I recently bought a 11 reg Toyota Avensis 2.0 D4D which has just passed an MOT. I have noticed a rattle behind the steering wheel dash board when at low speeds and on uneven roads, this knock seems to go when the speed goes up. Also while stationary and if you turn the steering wheel a fraction left or a fraction right there seems to be a knock both ways. I had a company car D4D previously with 350,000km and it did not have this problem. Garage I bought from gave warranty on engine and gearbox not suspension. Im begining to think Im hearing things and going mad !!!!!! Any help appreciated

    1. 1. If you were to consider buying a Hybrid model over 5 years old, would you be worried about the reliability of the Hybrid system?

      • Not really as Hybrid systems are always reliable
      • Not if it had a Manufacturers Warranty on the Hybrid system
      • I would not buy a Hybrid model over 5 years old
