How much power can I get?

So I’m in the process of buying a mk2 mr2 as a project car, intend to do it up properly. 

Was wondering how much power you can get out of them? Even debating an engine swap but can you actually remap them? Or is the ecu to old?

 

any help would be great. Cheers
