Strange problem

I have an “interesting” issue with my recently purchased Auris hybrid. I get a shift system failure code occasionally and the car will not go into gear, if not already in drive or reverse. I’ve realised this mainly occurs when the headlamps are on. If I select drive before putting on the lights it will drive but constantly beeps a warning at me, if I put lights on first it take many attempts to get it into gear. It’s booked in at my dealer on Monday so hopefully a solution will be found. Has anyone ever experienced a problem such as this. I can’t find anything remotely like it on t’internet.
