Hi Toyota Owners,

I have had this wonderful, unique car for 11 years now and it has now gone past 'increasingly difficult to find parts' to 'restoration project'.

I am in Edinburgh and have some great local mechanics who have looked after it for me for 8 years, but am now looking for someone with a more specialised experience and interest in older, Japanese imported Toyotas.

Ideally I would like to restore it for myself, but depending on costs and feasibility may be looking instead for someone with a passion for this kind of car to take it on.

It has always been mechanically very good.  The key issue taking it past the point of maintenance and repair is the fuel tank.  It is leaking/corroded seemingly around the top of the tank, but very awkward to find correct replacement tank.  There is the option to take it out and weld it, but my mechanics are concerned that taking it out could cause damage to bolts etc, that will cause more problems.  We've done quite a lot of welding of the 'undercarriage' over the past 2-3 years as age plus the Scottish weather have contributed to deterioration as expected.

It is currently insured but off the road, and I would love to have it back on the road this month or to be able to definitively make the decision that our time together is at an end.  It is quite possibly one of a kind, it's very unusual apparently to have 4 seats in the Cynos and to see any in the UK surviving this long.

Can anyone suggest Edinburgh/Scotland specialists, and/or part suppliers that could assist with sourcing the fuel tank?

Any help greatly appreciated!
