Paint damage

Hi.  Looking for some thoughts or advice on something I noticed this morning.  It appears that something has stripped the paint of part of the roof panel (see photos).  It's the part of the roof panel that you don't normally see, where the roof meets the tailgate/spoiler.  It's a T27 estate and the photos were taken with the tailgate slightly ajar.  I have no idea what has caused this and there appears to be some surface corrosion.  Anyone seen this before?  Any thoughts/ideas?

The car is 8 years old now and I've has it for nearly 5 and half years.

Thanks in advance.

Seen one case before where a rear screen had been replaced and windscreen installer had fitted the upper spoiler slightly too high causing it to rub on the bodywork, is your tailgate glass still original?

Yes tailgate, glass and spoiler all original.  The spoiler doesn't seem to be rubbing the bodywork, but will re-check this.

Taking it to the local dealers later this week for their opinion.

Appreciate any other ideas.

Clearly the tailgate/spoiler is catching.  It may be possible to loosen the fastenings and slightly realign it.
