Ipsum temperature

First off. Hello from New Zealand and Thanks for allowing me to join.

I'm about to buy a used import from Japanese land. Toyota New Zealand never sold them new here.  I have one question. (For now)

The  two that I have taken for a test drive dont seem to be a temp gauge. There is a blue tell-tail light that's on.

So Question 1. What happens if the engine starts to over heat. Is there an alarm or just a red temp warning light?

I think we know that as the Verso here in the UK......couldn't the owners/dealers of the cars you test drove tell you.?

No temp gauge is not unusual...I'm sure an appropriate light would illuminate should overheating occur.
