2008 TCH Trunk locked out

Trunk door wouldn't close and then following a youtube video I fiddled with the trunk latch and closed the trunk door with the electronic (that is supposed to attach to the trunk latch) cable disconnected. Now the trunk lid won't open no matter what. The mechanical lever at the base of the driver seat does not help. The matter could be worse than what I think as the electronic motor attached to the trunk latch seemed dysfunctional.
Looks like I will have to take to a body shop?
Any ideas please?

Can you roll down the back seats somehow, to get access to the trunk?

You should be then able to get it working.
