Hello, when driving my rav4 05plate deisel all of a sudden the revs just go, it doesn't stall or anything it just wont rev up which when your on a busy fast road can be dangerous.  We have to pull over switch engine off and on again. Any ideas please.

Sounds like the sender unit from the throttle pedal is failing.  I had a similar issue on a ford focus
