Shifting accidentally into reverse

Hello, I am fairly new to driving and only recently bought my first car, so please bear with me. 

I now own Toyota Auris 2015, hybrid. I have experienced a few times that fast shifting into drive will bounce the gear back into reverse. It's either my car having springy gear stick, or it's my hands... Either way, I was thinking that maybe having the pull up ring to shift into reverse will resolve this issue. How do I go about changing the gear stick to add the pull up ring? What/where do I buy the parts?

the simple answer is no as the selector isnt mechanical its electrical

we have an auris hybrid and i have had a CT with the same selector setup

and never had an issue like yours.

the lever automatically returns to a neutral position on the switch.
