Power steering lumpy....

Recommended Posts

Hi, my vehicle is a Toyota Rav4, Diesel, LWB, 2002, 135k on the clock

I have what I can only describe as lumpy power steering when setting off or turning the wheel all the way around. I have checked the steering fluid level and all seems ok so I presume no leaks but what else could it be ? and is it an easy fix or do I have to send the wife out to work again? 🙂 Thank you

Check whether it's still lumpy with the engine off.  If so, it could be a seized track rod end or similar.

    1. 1. If you were to consider buying a Hybrid model over 5 years old, would you be worried about the reliability of the Hybrid system?

      • Not really as Hybrid systems are always reliable
      • Not if it had a Manufacturers Warranty on the Hybrid system
      • I would not buy a Hybrid model over 5 years old
