I've just been told today the car has started to be built and will be available at the dealer in 4 weeks time

It was about 2 weeks since start of build notification to getting my car

Hi All,

I ordered my Corolla Design last Sunday (3rd April) and was given a delivery time of October 24th 😕

Has anyone had their delivery come earlier than expected?

Took 10 weeks for mine from mid Jan to end of March

Hi Corolla folks, a relative of mine is looking for a brand new Corolla.  They were prepared to pay up to around 26-27k for a split new one with all the options, Excel trim.  Given the current chip shortage (long wait times) and the excuses dealers are using to raise prices on used cars atm (ridiculous used car prices costing as much as a new one) they are debating between buying a new Corolla and waiting it out, OR, going for a 2020 or so Excel model. There is less choice in NI and they cost more than they're worth at the best of times by Mainland prices..  the cost of a 2019-20 Excel is the same as ordering a new one sometimes I believe.

How long did you wait for a new Corolla?  Any tips on things like options that might be wise to choose for a faster build and delivery?

26-28 weeks give or take depending on the spec and options some manufactures are sitting at 18 months on some models

In Japan, the new Land Cruiser has a four year waiting list ........

To be fair, given how big the RAV4 is, the Land Cruiser probably now needs a police escort and 2 mobile cranes to deliver to site and that takes time to organize!

Hahah 🙃🤣, the whole world becomes like Eastern European countries back when they where part of soviet Russia. You put a deposit on a car (Lada, Moskvich or trabant- German machine), then every month payments for the next 10 years and when your time comes up they will call you and you will go to the dealer and collect your new motor 🚗😂, then traders outside waiting and bidding on the price sometimes offering even twice the price you have paid just to buy the car off you. Wonderful times we all live in. Buy an ev, soon the price of charging an ev will be higher than running a diesel., just watch this space., how politicians are killing its own population with stupid decisions made one after the other. 👌

The 1.8 seems to have much shorter lead times in the order of 3-4 months instead of the 6 or so for the 2.0. I wouldn't buy used at the moment unless they really need it fast.

There are simply many more buyers then there are actual cars available to buy, it's a seller's market at the moment.

Lease companies & hire car companies are struggling to get new vehicles as well which has a knock on effect with used vehicle supply.

Lease car companies are extending leases & hire car companies have either sold a lot of there vehicles on during Covid OR holding on to them now as they can't get new replacements.

Absolutely crazy. 18 weeks isn’t bad for the 2.0 litre

My 2.0 Gr Sport Scarlet Flare Bi tone was ordered a tad over 3 months ago, it went into Build Monday and is now on it's way to the dealer. Ordered 31st December. Saved a good chunk by getting a Carwow quote and getting the Retailer to match it. About 14 to 15 weeks in total.

On Twitter there was a post (I saw the post, but have not verified the truth) saying a Skoda dealer was selling a pre reg Enyaq for 10k over list.

I ordered my 1.8 GR Sport on the 4th of February. It's through an NHS Car Scheme, still waiting for a more accurate date, but their system says it is estimated to arrive by the 30/06.  I go on holiday on the 22nd of June lol. But I've seen a few people say 1.8 takes around 12 weeks. So, I'm hoping I get the car at the start of May or by the end, at the very latest. I'll still be happy with that!

Annoyingly I'm not sure what I need to do to see the order on the MyToyota App. Since the order was not placed via website or proper dealer.

Order it in the basic white colour, might get build quicker😀

I would wait for the new one considering the current prices of 2 years old ones

Good luck

My white Design 1.8 is still at Processing Order (just checked for 3rd time today) 🤣 It was ordered 7th February so  solid white does not necessarily help!!

Until there are stupid people to pay these prices there will be a smart ones to ask for. I don’t care what circumstances are I will not pay that much for a car no matter what, will stop driving all together if necessary, will leave my job, will relocate but never pay these crazy high out of touch asking prices. My next car could also be different and not a Toyota just because of the same reason.

I saved £3500 with Car Wow on my 2.0 GR Sport.
Used it 4 years ago when I bought my new Volvo V40 R Design Pro. Saved £10k on that.
Will defo use again I’m the future. The dealers just give in when they know you are with Car Wow.
