Im in the process of buying  a 65 plate yaris hybrid. There is no spare with the car so will look to get a second hand one. Can you please advise what size I need to look for and from which model I should be looking. The car has 175 65 15 tyres as standard

Thanks in advance

Steve

I have a 65 plate Yaris Icon Hybrid and it came with a space saver spare but I believe the well in the boot will accept a normal wheel if you prefer that. You need a 15 inch wheel for a Mk3 Yaris, not one for the Yaris Excel which I believe has 16 inch wheels. You need to decide if you want a steel wheel or a matching alloy. I would go with steel as there are so many different styles of alloys.

You can fit a full size 15" wheel with 175/65R15 tyre but you will have a large hump in the boot floor, only a space saver will fit in the well and not affect the boot floor level.

Toyota do offer an accessory kit that gives is designed for all mk3 Yaris:

42600-0DM51 a 16" Steel space saver pre fitted with a 125/70/D16 tyre

42600-0D900 a box with all the bits needed to fit/use a spare ( cushions x 3, Wheel retainer, floor support, jack, jack handle, Wrench & tool bag

All comes in for £110

I bought a space-saver plus jack etc from eBay.

£60odd if my memory serves me.  I just went to the eBay site and put in my tyres size and 2014 Yaris.

Since given away the gunge and the electric pump to someone who wanted it.  Goodness knows why anyone wants them!

Mick.
