Picked up some tyres on 16” Kia wheels from a sportage, bolt pattern is the same as the RAV4 but the centre bore is larger anyone used them? The wheels are in great condition better than the peeling Toyota ones so thinking of just booting them on rather than pay to swap the tyres around?

Is the offset similar? If the bore is larger you should be able to get a spigot adapter for them

& don't forget to tell your insurance company.

You really would be best using Genuine Toyota wheel rims, they may fit however they are designed for different weights, different forces and a different vehicle. as much as it seems silly to use the peeling wheels, depending on your corrosion warranty (which also covers the alloy wheels provided with the vehicle) you may be able to have them repaired or replaced by Toyota free of charge. The stock wheels are also safety and collision tested to be safest when used on that particular model.

I doubt the warranty will apply 16 years later, offset very similar and they are from a sportage 2.0d a very similar size and weight car...

do they really collision test every factory wheel combination ???

  • 3 weeks later...

Wheels fitted and look great and at £20 a corner much cheaper than new tyres and refurbished rims.........

just st need to find the right size centre caps with a Toyota logo ideally. Perhaps some new nuts too as the different design of the wheels means the stick out a little now.
