Adaptive High Beam System changes

I was perusing the extensive Corolla users manual, and was having a look at customisable functions, specifically those that have to be done by the dealer, so that I could make sure anything I wanted was done before I pick my new car up. Other than (possibly) linking the moon-roof to the global opening, the only one that struck me was the following:

"Vehicle speed at which the brightness and illuminated area adjustment of the high beams changes mode"

The default for this is 75mph (!) with options (to be dealer set) of 50 and 60 mph, both of which would be more useful in the UK I would think.

Does anyone know what happens to the beam patter/brightness at the specified speed though?

I believe that the adaptive high beam function is only for certain markets and not the UK. Just for reference it’s completely different to the auto high beam function

Im not sure how the beam pattern changes but I think it’s the same set up as the Prius Plug-in which strangely does have it in the UK

Is there some way to upgrade headlamps from:  Bi-led (hi) + ahb eu (wng)  -> Multi-led + ahs
on TC 2019 TS 1.8 HEV ?
Bi-led (hi) + ahb eu (wng)  is installed on Model: ZWE211, Engine: 2ZR-FXE (1.8); while AHS only on 2.0 with VIP (model: MZEH12,  Engine: M20A-FXS)
I'd like to have both:
- Headlamp levelling: auto
- Headlamps: Multi-led + ahs
on my 1.8 HEV (Model: ZWE211). I do not understand that restriction with VIP available only on 2.0

Are you talking about the matrix headlights?

I'd settle for auto-dip working properly.

Yeap you are talking about the matrix headlights. These are the bi-led headligths that most of us have. And these are the matrix headlights that a few countries in europe can get in the highest trim. I would assume that fitting the matrix headlights shouldnt be a problem as they propably have the same measurements as the bi-led headlights. I am not sure however if you can get the full functionality of the matrix led while using adapative high beam. I've seen a member of this forum talk about them, @OXYGEN I think this is the guy (sorry if i tagged the wrong person) he's talked about these headlights before and they seem to be really sweet.

Yes, it was me.

But I think what you are showing on the links is EU vs USA headlights, instead of matrix vs not.

Here’s a picture of mine.

And check on the video I just made the cool effect I was talking when car is started:

The pictures that i showed are these two. The US headlghts instead of having 2 led day timing lights they have 3. Looks like a triple j. I like that effect, looks really nice. Too bad toyota doesnt offer these headlights to all countries, otherwise i would  have definently gone for these. Do you think they could get retrofitted? I am sure that they fit. I doubt toyota would make two different bumper designs just for the headlights. What i am wondering is if they will be plug & play, meaning they would work right from the get go and do all of those things that you talked about.

Sorry, I thought one of the links showed the triple day light strips.

About the retrofit - I think physical shape and fit is the smallest problem. If such at all.

The problem might be the car software. I am still not familiar with Japanese cars/Toyota, but most probably it will be required some sort of adaptation/ FW update or something like that.

For example VW group cars require configuration and adaptation of new parts/units.

Hello. I studied technical documentation of my car and there is expected version with AHS functionality, there is already place where you may add the following part:
89907    COMPUTER SUB-ASSY, HEADLAMP, LH
89908    COMPUTER SUB-ASSY, HEADLAMP, RH
Is anyone able to help, provide information how to ? Toyota Service may install device (responsible for switching on/off let celles) there, but they have no experience, no time for experiments.
I'm unable to find anyone who may say: yes/no/how to/why ....
I'd like to get professional reply (only) if possible in this forum.
Thank you
