Replacement Fuel Tank & Fuel Gauge

I recently had the fuel tank in my 14yr old Verso replaced. 

The fuel gauge has been a little scatty since then.

Having driven the same car for so many years I know how much fuel I have left in the tank, now the indicator gets to half fuel when I expect it to read almost empty and I'm putting almost a full tank of fuel in... 

Are there some calibration settings or offsets or something which could have been disturbed as a result of the new fuel tank? I just don't trust the indicator.
