Charging PHV

Slightly off-topic.

Playing about with the MFD displays I found the monthly summary pages and it was enlightening to see the history of the previous owner ( a senior manager at the main agents).

He ran it for about 6 months at about 2k a month, during which time it typically averaged 75mpg. It was then not run for several months - I suspect to facilitate an average mileage claim, rather than an annualised 20k+.

So clearly the first owner never used the plug-in system.

Cheers

Funnily enough, I recently found the same summary pages and looked at the vehicles history. I bought my PHV as an ex demonstrator approximately seven months since first registered and having covered a little over 5000 miles.

From memory (I’m currently in the South of France on holiday without my car - its a hard life I know!) looking at the average miles/kWh figure, it was clear that the car was driven, but not plugged in for 3 months. For the other 4 months, I seem to remember, the average  mpg didn’t exceed mid to late 50’s, indicating very little plugging in.
I suspect the car had been used by a member of the sales team for their personal use for much of the time (often the case with demos) and they couldn’t be bothered to plug it in as they weren’t paying for fuel.

My son tells me he has reps visiting him at work in Mitsubishi PHEVS and they happily admit they never plug them in either as they don’t pay for fuel.

There is no previous owner data on my pip mk1 because everything got reset when the charcoal fuel filter recall was done.
