Diesel Injector Cleaner

Hi All,

I have a 2013 Avensis Estate. I just had to have two of it's injectors replaced (at a cost to make your eyes water) and I'm wondering what peoples opinions on injector cleaners are. Do any of you use them regularly, are they worth it? Or are they just a waste of money?

I use them. Noticable increase in performance and fuel consumption. Not much. But every little helps. Redex.

Like you, I am concerned about keeping the injectors clean.

I've done some research on a fuel additive called:

"Diesel Purge" by Liqui Moli which is a well used and a respected brand.

There are several methods that this can be added to the the vehicle.

My vehicle is running smoothly, therefore my application was preventative?

I poured 1 litre into my fuel tank which was 1/4 full and drove the car normally until there was 30 miles indicated remaining.

I haven't really noticed any appreciable difference in performance. It as I said, was hopefully preventative.

Please research this product and methods of application and decide for yourself the possible benefits.

Modern fuels, with bio mixes, can cause problems with injectors, Toyota do both a petrol and diesel additive, costs about £10 a bottle, just put it in a full tank of fuel
