Toyota coolant

Could do with a little top up on my coolant level.. 2013 auris 1.6 auto. Looking at the colour I am unsure as to whether it’s pink or red, I would say it’s pink but it’s a reddish pink, is the red very red, maybe ask them at Toyota garage to look but did not want to bother them , think they could have chose different colours. Any advice would be welcome. Mike

Toyota Super Long Life coolant (pink) has been used for a number of years in new cars. Each of my new Toyotas have had it from 2006 - 2006 Corolla, 2009 Auris, 2012 Auris and 2016 Aygo.

What kind of coolant does Toyota use?

Toyota's coolant is pink/orange..not red, not green. The main ingredient in Toyota's coolant is actually ethylene glycol, but with additives and no silicates, best for an aluminum radiator and heads/block

Toyota s red and pink coolants are different and are suitable for different applications. Best is to check owners manual or double check with dealer. Pink coolant with the time may change a bit in colour shade and look like a red one.

When in doubt, use distilled water, your coolant is already made of 50% water.

Question is, where did you loose the coolant?

Anything made in 2013 (apart from GT86) will be Super Long Life Pink.
