Good afternoon all,

I am approaching my 1st service soon however the MyToyota app says it is due at 9320 miles whereas I think 10000 miles is in the service guide. Do Toyota operate a variable service period for high mileage users like me, any thoughts welcome

Not as far as I'm aware. Some diesels indicated if a service was needed sooner than the standard service interval of 10,000 miles (12,000 for BMW engined diesels).

I know there are monitors of various components, filters etc, or so I have been told that dictate when a service is due, I had a lease BMW and the lease company would only change the bits that were reporting requiring attention

Thanks both, I’m not too fussed but will give my local dealer a call to clarify

Check the specifications chapter in the full owners manual, or your service & warranty booklet.

To date Toyota hybrids have had the same service intervals as other Toyotas (except the BMW diesels and the LCV's produced by PSA).

Lee,

As I thought but strange how the mobile app is saying otherwise, I will raise it when in for my service,

Thanks

As part of servicing the handbook says rotate the tyres every 3000 miles for RAV4 AWD.  This is the first car I have had for many years that recommends tyre rotation.

Anyone doing this?

Not me but I will ask them to do this at 10k service if the leasing company agree.

The MyToyota App says my first service is due at 9320 miles as well.  I suspect it's a quirk in the App rather than a clever system that works out a service schedule according to usage.  I wouldn't mind betting it says that for everyone.

I have my tyres swapped every October and March by my dealer, at which point I'll ask them to install tyres such that they will all reach my chosen minimum tread depth (3mm) at roughly the same time.  This includes bringing my full size spare into play each time.

Once the original Bridgestone summer tyres are down to 3mm, I'll get my dealer to dispose of them and leave the Vredestein all-season tyres on all year round.  I'll then take advice whether to rotate them at some interval so they all need replacing at once, or go back to best tread at rear and replace two at a time.

9320 miles are 15000km so the app writer must have been lazy in researching actual service intervals for the UK.
