Coolant Temperature Light

Hi everyone,

I was driving home today and near the end of my journey the High Coolant temperature light came on and blinked for a few seconds then switched back off.

I'm not sure if this should be something to worry about as it switched off or if I should be worried.

It's a 2006 petrol Aygo.

Thanks for any replies!

once your car has cooled down make sure to check your water level and top up if necessary with an antifreeze mix

If this carries on with no sign of coolant loss, you could always fit a water temp gauge, one with a white face would even look the part.

I was surprised to find my base model has almost zero instrumentation, and realised that relying solely on a warning bulb is, errrr, fraught with anxiety provoking worrysomeness.

Here's a cheap solution to frazzled nerves...   https://www.fensport.co.uk/collections/toyota-aygo-mk2-1-0-kgb40-07-14/products/coolant-temperature-sensor-type-2
