Hi,

I have a 2008 Auris.

Does anybody know the reason why toyota have stuck to pieces of transparent plastic to the bottom of the rear door and sill.

I see them on all the auris models circa 2008,just quirous why they are there?

My guess is to prevent snow build up during winter driving, and freezing there, and give extra protection against road salt.

Many cars have it, not just Toyota.

They are there to prevent the door/sill being chipped by stones. Most cars have them either on the door and sill, or just the sill.

Commonly known as 'stone guards'.

As above, the Yaris has that too, a clear plastic protector stuck behind the lower rear door openings extending to the wheel arch. Nothing on the doors though - cheapskates.😎
