Can anyone advise please?  The rear wiper on my 2007 Rav4 is stuck on intermittent.  Is there an obvious solution e.g. change the stalk, or do I need to fault find in which case how do people suggest I go about it.

Thanks in anticpation.

You need a multimeter, and access to the rear wiper motor. Measure the voltage on the connections to the motor, disconnect the connector to get better access if needed.

Then try moving the stalk, and see if anything changes. If yes, problem with motor.

If not, could be the stalk, could be something else, i'd rather disconnect the motor than attempt to troubleshoot it much further, not worth it, but that's my personal opinion.

The most likely cause is the self-parking switch in the motor.  Try for a replacement motor from a breaker.

Thanks for the tips.  I hadn't thought of trying the motor so I'll get to that and see how I get on.
