MAP sensor

I have just had a new MAP Sensor fitted, well don’t Toyota know how to charge for one of them!

well after doing just over 100 miles all of my engine management lights came back on, car drops back into limp mode, take the car back to the garage you fitted the part, they run full diagnostics and find that it’s the new M a P sensor, the engineer could actually get the fault to come on and off just by touching the sensor, he has full video evidence of this happening and the voltage changes as he does it showing the fault, but Toyota will not accept this as evidence that the part is faulty,So the car is now in Toyota where they are just driving the car about to see if the fault will come back on.

So the car is now in Toyota where they are just driving the car about to see if the fault will come back on.

Has anybody else Ever had a warranty claim where they won’t accept the physical data from a video and laptop to prove the fault?

The guy that did the full diagnosis has Toyota training as he worked for them, and went through the full schematics to prove it was that part, the guy is so confident it’s that part he said it is 100% the problem.

throw a Bosch or Denso sensor at it. dealers are franchised your best off contacting Toyota customer services and see what they have to say

Was it a Toyota dealer who replaced the sensor in the first instance - not clear? No manufacturer is obliged to accept evidence from a third party - Toyota would want to follow their own process via their dealers to diagnose.
