Estima and Previa

Does the Estima and Previa have the same engines and gearboxes , as there seem to be more posts on Estimas than previas.

For insurance purposes is the Estima the same as a Previa?

I would say no.

Outside Japan the Estima was known as the Previa or the Tarago (Australia). 

Insuring an Estima as a Previa may disguise the fact it is a grey import (ie. a Japanese domestic market vehicle imported into another country).  There may also be some differences in parts.

I certainly don't think you should  insure an Estima AS a Previa (if that's what Steve means) but surely any insurer would check a database and find the "truth" anyway.? (from the Reg No.)

Whilst they are largely the same vehicle I think there are possibly some subtle differences...but nowadays the Estima is pretty well served under it's own identity..parts are generally freely available in the UK.

I've never had an issue in 4 years.
