Doesn't surpirise me at all!

When you get below 14 secs even 0.1sec makes a big difference when watching a race

I was a long term member of the seat cupra clubs and after owning ibizas I always wanted a Leon cupra R. When i had a go it felt heavy in the corners but it just rocks in every other respect, plenty of go (same as S3 and TT) and can be chipped for £400 to over 260bhp easy.

They look great in every colour and are rare unlike civic R's and clio 172's which are boringly common these days.

Also you can take your mates out in style with all that space!

My mate had a 172 and the ashtray fell out when gunning it round an island one afternoon, also with 20k miles on it seemed knackered and loose. The leon will still be tight in years to come.

Early ones are only 210bhp so watch out if buying one. To tell you need to see the cupra Badge close as on the 225 versions they are red.

Great car, spend £450 at jabbasport and you'll have 275bhp

it's essentially an S3..

go really mad and put an Audi RS4 engine in it, 450bhp

(i've seen that done by the way)

good choice dude, hope it serves you well

my brothers got one, nice enough car, leather seats a bit too hard, typically plastic looking interior.

oh and my tubby leaves him for dead!

no way, that's as quick as a rev 3 tubby, which means the clio can do about 0-60 in 5.3 and 100 in 14 secs, no way, not a chance in hell for a standard clio. you're looking at 14.5 at absolute best, prob more like 15s

Hmmm, high 13s for a chipped and modded one, not a standard. Most 300bhp 4x4 Calibras only make mid 13s and they have traction as well as power.

Anyway, Cupra R - nice, lots of neat kit in there like the Brembo brakes and the recaro seats.

But is it an MR2, and can they be compared, NO! Totally different cars.

but 4 wheel drive on a calibra saps power! its not the super set up as seen in imprezas and evos

On the contrary, the setup is significantly better, but the robustness of the system isn't.
