White powder coming out of air vents...

When we bought the auris (2008) the aircon was not working.... now I know why! Having done some digging it looks to be the a/c evaporator might be shot and the power is aluminium oxide.

Before i settle on this conclusion is there anything else it could be?

My local Toyota dealer has quoted £1790 to repair the car of which £390 is the part and the rear is labour!

It could be that the previous owner was a drug mule and had hidden his stash in the heater.  Do you get a feeling of euphoria when driving it?

The AC not working will be a separate issue to the powder which is purely a surface defect of the evaporator and as such there is no reason to suspect a failed evaporator at this stage for the non functional AC.
