Could be to disable the alarm's interior sensors.

I wish I had read this 2 days ago ! I had the same question and spent ages looking through the manual to find it. Still exploring the features of my 'new' 2017 Verso.

However I can't see any light or indication when I press it to say whether it is set or not.

Not actually a problem for me though as I am not planning to leave anybody/thing inside while the car is locked 😉
