I know that if this is possible, you guys will know about it and, hopefully, share your knowledge as you always do.

Thank you again

You can do all that on Toyota techstream for price of the cable ~15 GBP + few pounds to use the software for limited amount of time.

You do need laptopt for it tho.

Cheaper then carista + Techstream is the toyota's official diagnostic tool.

Hi furtula,

Thank you for information on Techstream.

I'm just researching it on the internet and watching Youtube videos etc. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop anymore, but I am considering a cheap mini note pad from eBay. But I do need to evaluate the options to see if the benefits will be worth the expenditure.

Thank you again

It works great on Windows XP, so you can get the cheapest laptop you can find and it will be enough. Most of them have dead Battery, but if you have an extension it should be fine.

It's a great diagnostic tool anyway. that can do all you mentioned and more, for not that much money, even if you buy 20 gbp laptop.

Hi TonyHSD,

I’m interested in how you think Caria performs. Do you have to pay any subscription to Carisa for using diagnostics through their app?

Thank you got your contribution to this thread.

Hi, usually yes you need to subscribe to have full access to all possible extras, however you can use it without subscribing for basic tasks , check and clear engine trouble codes etc, seat belts or reverse beeps etc. You can also use the adapter with hybrid app that have similar options plus hybrid Battery checks, but again if you want a full option you need to buy sub with them, it is £12.99 for private use up to 3 cars, but I don’t know if this is only for a year or permanently, let someone else clarify.

Hello,

I'm using Carista on my Auris 2014 Hybrid and it's awesome. I'm using it to set my TMPS sensors each season (I know you can do that on Techstream, but for me Carista it's easier - you just have to install the app on your phone).

Carista can be used on all vehicles for clear codes and customization. As Tony said, you can check and clear engine error codes with the free plan.

This tool has been designed for private garages & services so the price is a bit too much. If you want to unlock customization options, you need to pay $9.99 for 1-week pass or $39.99 for 1 year pass. You can buy the adapter and they will give you 1 month of trial (no prepaid payment needed.)

one of the best things about carista is the space it takes up

you can keep it in the glovebox so its ready to use whenever you need it

so no carrying around a bulky laptop

i have used carista from the early years when there was a one off payment

for lifetime use, i have used it to clear hybrid fault codes and to reset

airbag lights / warnings on the dashboard.

Most of the cables on eBay seem to be for Lexus, would they suit my Auris Hybrid? Do some work with Win7/10 64-bit?

I also have replaced one of the Tyre Pressure sensors, can I change this on the system?

thanks for the helpful info on Techstream!

Is there any significant difference in what diagnostics capabilities there are between the Carista and Techstream?

Does either offer more functions and functionality than the other?

Do you have to pay a subscription for Techstream?

Sorry for the interrogation

Techstream is the Toyota's own diagnostic. It's actually paid, you can pay by hour, day, week, etc, and can be downloaded freely from Toyota.

Most of the cables you buy online are knock offs, and are shipped with pirated software, but it does not affect the functionality.
