Corolla E12 prefacelift Steering wheel upgrade to facelift?

Hi,

I was wondering is it possible to upgrade prefacelift steering wheel to facelift? I bought a chinese android head unit to my Corolla and it look's like it's impossible to get steering wheel controls work in prefacelift steering wheel. I found pretty cheap facelift steering wheel with SWC and airbag. Is it bolt-on upgrade? Connectors etc? My car is 2003 and the steering wheel is from 2005 Corolla.

No one tried this upgrade? I've noticed prefacelift slip ring/clock spring ring is connected with one connector to airbag and facelift have two connectors. It look's like that one fits with facelift airbag but does it need the other wire to work? I don't have yet facelift steering wheel, airbag or that ring. So if someone would be smarter with this problem I'd be very pleased to hear about it.

I'm in a bit hurry because it's on sale in junkyard and don't know when someone else buys it.

I want to do this upgrade myself. So if you have done it, and got it working I'vd appreciate how you did! 

 

I believe the facelift have two igniters for the airbag hencr the two contacts.

I have read somewhere that the boss or where the clock spring is, is different. Like you said also the airbag connections also, If it looks significantly different then it most likely wont work. I think the pre face Celica steering might though but don't hold that to me as I've only seen a image of someone who has it.
