Not much one can do with the unpredictable weather!

But like, what happens when it plunges to sub-7degrees in April or Sept with summers on 🤔

As long as you drive careful no problems with summer tyres in colder days, they just have no grip in snow and ice and make the car impossible to control and the whole fun factor driving on snow is gone. 😢 , it is dangerous actually.

Guess we been driving like that for over a century now 🤣

I heard, we panic each time it snows (and we NEVER did in the decade before the 90s), is because now the summer tyres are so slick/good at what they do during warm weather, that when it hits sub-7degrees, the just useless....

In fact, one can guess the tyres prior to the 90s were ALL SEASON TYRES??? 🤔

Not read this thread for a while

the T-spirit aka lounge Should have everything, 3 buttons by the handbrake,

EV Mode (puts the car in ev mode but as soon as you go near the throttle it goes off) ideal for getting out of snow/mud)

Eco - changes the throttle response

P button - front sensors off button (a rare option - Parking assistance pack iirc)

Tyre wise I'm happy with the Avon's tbh I have never had the need for winter tyres

My Yaris only has 2 buttons 😞

But, my Auris T-Spirit did have 3 buttons:

1. EV

2. Eco

3. Power!

Ah, the P button is for front sensors, no wonder my Yaris doesn't have it...

Wait, why have the button in the first place ??? 🤔

Most important button you should look for is (TC) traction control off, otherwise winter or all season tyres are really worth it when you do over 10k miles per year. Auris doesn’t have one and funny situations in mud, snow or even wet grass, once both driving wheels slipped and the car cuts it’s power off completely and you will be red faced 🥵, but if you switch TC off then you can spin the wheels a bit and get yourself going. You can still do though but in Maintenance mode. 👍

VSC off is by the drivers right knee iirc, Parking sensors off is very useful if you're parking in a tight space and don't want it blaring at you 12-14 has different lights, bumpers and the interior is very different to the 14-17

If it has the pano roof it doesn't come with a spare (the jack handle lives in the boot with the tool kit and the jack is under the passenger seat) and it should have the boot board

Mine has the Panoramic Roof + Spare :thumbup1:

Didn't check the jack

How do you access the REAR  passenger seat? 🤔

The jack is under the front passenger seat, push the seat right forward, It has a black cover on it

So, the deal was done (bought Yaris) 🚙

The date picked (today) 🏁

Now, no one is bothered about covid-19 and social distancing or mass gatherings, so I just ask a friend to give me a lift (and 2 backups just in case) - not a problem! 😷

No.1 friend "er, can I be the backup as I busy on weekends?" 🙄

No.2 friend "sorry, no can do, holidaying in lake District!" 🙄

No.3 friend "nah, going to Alton towers!"🙄

The back up "sorry, got a wedding invite now"🙄

Not a problem, public transport is completely safe even if at peaked hours with jam packed like sardines, a sniff/cough is not a problem....🚎🚆🚍

The hospitals are quiet, 80% lock down all doors have staff on them, the traffic is very light for a weekend too

The virus has a positive side too, sometimes less is better then more.
