LN106 upgrading

So we all know the LN106 is the best Hilux………..(fishing for bites) But what about upgrading to a newer version or just upgrading the current. I like the fact I have solid front end. however the 3L 2.8 litre non turbo is getting a bit sad on it. do I rebuild it add a turbo or go to a 1kzte or would a 1hdt fit with some non structural modification. do the doors off the next model up fit the LN106 because electric windows would be nice. but overall I'm actually pretty happy with my old girl.
