Corolla Touring Automatic Tailgate Release from Key Fob

Good morning everyone,

Have just joined the forum and wanted to say Hi.👋

My wife and I have just gotten a new 2020 Corolla Touring 1.8 Hybrid Excel, it's an excellent car.

One thing that we've yet to figure out is the automatic tailgate, wondering if anyone can help.

There's a button on the dash and another one on the bottom of the tailgate itself which, as you might expect automatically opens and closes the tailgate.

When we press the same button on the key fob though, nothing happens.

I suspect user error on our behalf, does anyone have any idea what we're doing wrong?

Hello!

I believe I had the same issue when I got the car. I believe the car itself is locked when You try that? Unlock the car first from the key and then press and hold the boot lid button down, it then should open. Also the “leg sensor” won’t work if the engine is running.
